England on Tuesday (May 21) announced their final squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson, and James Vince have been picked in place of David Willey, and Joe Denly, and Alex Hales.
Archer who has played only 3 international ODIs has been picked. He has impressed the selectors with his accurate yorkers and his ability to bowl 140 kmph consistently. Jofra played one ODI against Ireland and two ODIs against Pakistan and picked up 3 wickets. Archer comes in place of left-hand fast bowler David Willey.
James Vince has been added to the squad as Alex Hales has been omitted from the squad after serving a suspension for reportedly failing a recreational drugs test. Vince scored an aggregate of 76 runs in two ODIs against Pakistan.
Joe Denly failed to impress the selectors and has made way for Liam Dawson who last played an ODi in 2018. Dawson bowls left-arm spin and can bat a little. He scored 274 and picked 18 in 9 games in the One-Day Cup.
