BCCI to decide on resumption of CK Nayudu Trophy in Apex Virtual Meeting

BCCI Apex Council’s virtual meet on March 2 will decide the fate of CK Nayudu Trophy and Senior Women’s T20. Both tournaments were postponed last month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Local Organising Committee for the 2023 ODI World Cup will also be formed on the same day.

The currently going on Ranji trophy was also postponed but BCCI decided to organise the premier domestic event due to the no. of cases coming down. The first round of this year’s Ranji trophy was completed on Sunday.

The agenda of the meeting, which consists of 14-points include organising the two domestic events with the COVID-19 situation getting better.

The formation of LOC for the ODI World Cup 2023 is also on the agenda. BCCI will be looking forward to hosting the event after being forced to host the T20 World Cup last year in UAE due to the pandemic.

Other points in the Agenda include the Appointment of GM – Game Development. Dhiraj Malhotra left the position last month.

Bjyus’s contract as Indian cricket team sponsor will end on 31 March and the committee will discuss about it too.

Discussion regarding the allotment for the T20 series against South Africa in June will also happen.

The ratification of Central contracts of men and women cricketers will also take place in the virtual meet.
