Parthiv Patel replaces Sachin Tendulkar, to leave for South Africa

For the India-South Africa one-day cricket series, wicketkeeper and batsman Parthiv Patel will take Sachin Tendulkar’s place on the Indian cricket team. Due to an injury, Sachin will be out for the following three games.

After bowler Praveen Kumar, openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, and openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, Sachin is the fourth Indian player to leave the country due to injury.

In his 16 ODI appearances, Parthiv has scored 241 runs, including two half-centuries. In the most recent one-day series between India and New Zealand, he played brilliantly.

Parthiv will leave for South Africa today.
