RCB wins their first game, stays alive in WPL 2023

The Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday defeated the UP Warriorz by five wickets and grabbed two crucial points in the Tata Women’s Premier League 2023. This is RCB’s first win in their six games, and with this win, they are still alive in the tournament.

RCB won the toss and decided to field on a pitch that turned out to be spinner friendly. They picked up quick wickets and restricted UP to 135 in 20 overs. For the UP Warriors, both the openers got out in the first over by the hands of Sophie Devine. Grace Harris was the top scorer for the UP Warriorz, who scored 46 runs off 32 balls. Ellyse Perry opened her account in the Tata WPL 2023 and picked up 3 wickets in her 4 overs.

Sophie Devine opened the batting for RCB gracefully, hitting two fours and one six off the first four balls but got out on the last ball off the first over. After that, RCB also lost their captain Smriti Mandhana in the next over, causing them deep trouble.

Kanika Ahuja stood out for RCB and scored a magnificent 46 off 20 balls. Richa Ghosh also played a crucial inning of 31 off 32 balls, handing RCB their first win of the season.
