Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan hold the record for the highest partnership in T20 World Cup 2021. This is also the second-highest Partnership in T20 World Cup History and the highest first-wicket partnership in T20 World Cup. This was the first match of both Pakistan and India in the 2021 Edition.

Batting first, India lost early wickets in the form of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Suryakumar Yadav. But Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant took India to a respectable score. Virat scored 57 runs off 39 balls.

Pakistan chased the total in just 18 overs, courtesy of the highest partnership in the T20 World Cup 2021. Babar Azam scored 68* off 52 balls and Rizwan scored 79* off 55 balls.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was named the Man of the match who took 3 wickets in the match. This was the first time Pakistan ever defeated India in any World Cup match. India was among the top contender for T20 World Cup Winners.

Highest Partnership in the 2016 World Cup

Samiullah Shinwari and Mohammad Nabi’s 98 against Zimbabwe is the highest partnership in the 2016 edition. Samiullah scored 43 off 37 balls and Nabi smashed 52 off just 32 balls before getting run out by Mutumbami. This helped Afghanistan set a target of 186 in 20 overs. In response to this Zimbabwe was bundled for just 127 thanks to Rashid Khan’s 4-wicket haul conceding just 11 runs off 4 overs.

Mohammed Nabi was named Man of the Match for his 52 runs and 1 wicket off 14 runs.
